You really don't want ColdFusion to utilize 100% of the processor, although you do want to get more out of ColdFusion if you have the extra resources available.
Ideally, you would want the total server CPU to run at about 70% during peak to near-peak load. If there are few other processes needing CPU then this might translate to having ColdFusion's jrun.exe run at 65-70% during peak to near-peak load. You don't want the CPU to be chronically utilized at values higher than about 70% because you'll want to leave room for bursts of activity exceeding average peak load, or for other programs on the system to run concurrently. You can achieve a higher ColdFusion CPU utilization by increasing the Simultaneous Requests setting in the ColdFusion Administrator. The general rule of thumb is 3-5 per CPU, but this is highly dependent on system resources and application needs. You could begin increasing this number by 2 until you see the total system CPU running around 70% during high load. -Steven Erat > -----Original Message----- > From: Dave Ferguson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Friday, January 12, 2007 9:53 AM > To: CF-Server > Subject: CF wont use 100% of processor > > I ran into an issue with a CF install.
