I am about to use a CF .car file for the first time. I need to copy data sources and scheduled tasks from CF7 on a Solaris 10 box to CF7 on a Windows 2003 box. The Solaris box uses the multi-server installation. I will be grabbing the data sources and scheduled tasks from one instance on this Solaris server. The Windows box does not use the multi-server installation. I will be dropping the new data sources and scheduled tasks in with the existing ones on the Windows server.
I have already created the .car file on the Solaris box. Now I need to deploy this .car file on the Windows box. My questions: After I copy the .car file to a folder on the Windows box and then point the unarchive process to this file is CF smart enough to drop the new data sources and scheduled tasks in the appropriate place on the Windows box? Will CF do this WITHOUT wiping out any data sources and scheduled tasks that already are there? Thanks!
