Out of 5 personal machines - I have a dell dimension XPS 8100 with 512 Mb RAm / 1 ghz / 2 -120 gb drives- Piece o crap since day 1. Sorry -ran great for the first 2 hours.
I then decided may be a lemon 0- -so I bought a Dell PRecision 530 - 2 ghz proc / 4 -80 gig scsi raid drives / 4 gig of ram - both running 2000 - That one ran smooth for 4 months before performance went completely down the toilet. Not cheap machines either. i didn't post to brag above - I felt I just had to reply that I would never buy another dell again. jay miller Tony Weeg wrote: oh yeah, dell latitude laptop 40gb/833mHz/512ram SOLID. cfmx xp cfstudio 5 photoshop 7 sql server 2000 .tony Tony Weeg Senior Web Developer Information System Design Navtrak, Inc. My only problems were the IBM DeskStar 75gb drives that they kept sending me - I had 3 before they sent me 2 60gb - but that's not Dell's fault. I've found the OptiPlex (business line) to be rock-solid Dimension (consumer-line)... always some weird problem. Any similar experience? Point is if Dell, I would HIGHLY recommend you go for their business-line system. Tony Carcieri wrote: Damn, I didn't know they were doing that! I have always had a Dell at work and have never had problems. i tried to talk my father-in-law into it, but nope, he liked his Gateway...he's wishing he had a Dell now ;-) ______________________________________________________________________ Your ad could be here.
