The problem with executive summaries is that they don't have enough
information to act upon. So here's a little more information.

Installing any version of CF prior to 4.5.1 on Win2K replaces components in
MDAC 2.5 with components from MDAC 2.1. On NT, you can upgrade MDAC
separately from the operating system, but in Win2K, MDAC is an integrated OS
component. You can fix Win2K by simply reinserting the Win2K install CD, and
selecting "Upgrade your operating system", after which you'll have to
reinstall any third-party device drivers you're using.

You can check your version of MDAC by downloading the Component Checker from
http://www.microsoft.com/data/. You can use this to make sure that
everything worked out OK.

If you only installed CF 4.5.1, that shouldn't break your MDAC. Again,
though, you can use Component Checker to find out.
