I believe this is because CFMX for J2EE came out first and worked fine with JRun 4 because it contained a silent workaround. Then SP1(a) came out and 'broke' the workaround (because it fixed the problem properly). The only place to mention that was the SP1(a) notes. I may be wrong but that is my take on it unofficially...
