The way I see it, given the reported strength of RedSky, as long as you're upgrading, and the monetary cost is the same in either event, you may as well go to the most current version. Older stuff may work fine, but if you're going to suffer thru an upgrade (and that time taken is also money), may as well suffer to get the latest and best... and Redsky is looking to be both.
I don't believe you can directly update from 4.0 to 6.1. You may want to upgrade to 4.5 and then let the installer upgrade *that*.
