As Ben already stated, each instance uses more like 50MB of RAM. I just wanted to add that running multiple instances of ColdFusion is a solution for higher-end sights which I think one can reasonably expect would run a box with sufficient RAM and disk space. Even the weekend specials at Best Buy have enough resources these days.
