CF Command Line

Hey guys, if I use CF to execute a command, like copying 4,000 images into a different directory, does CF wait for the command to complete execution, then process the rest of the template (I hope it's this way!!)?  Or is the processing of the template independent from the command execution (Hope it's not this way!)?
