definately in MX but there is a hotfix available and it may have been
permanentaly fixed in 6.1, im not sure as I dont code that way any
more due to that bug

Hey ... if your right that has to be a bug right? It must be because
of the nested function. I use "trim( )" all the
time without issues. Your saying that trim( ) combined with "Len( )"
causes the inner function ref to be passed instead
of the return value from both calls?
