Can't Visual Studio be had via some of M$'s programs along with a ton of other software and at a rather large discount? I once recall someone pointing out how M$ wants developers so that their server products get used more and because of this that is why they make it possible to get the development tools severely discounted in said programs. Sorry I do not know the actual names of the things, never looked hard enough into it all since never had the need.
