MySQL *is* ACID, as long as you use the right kind of table handler. InnoDB and BDB tables a completely safe. MyISAM tables are not, but are faster. The choice of which you use is a trade-off. So yes, this is FUD. And worse still because your error has been pointed out and you persist in spreading it.
