Thanks Dan & James....I get where you're coming from now ;-) Currently alot of our AJAX work is in 3 major areas:
1) Validating form data and returning an error message to display Better than a full form post and screen reload 2) Search Results We make the request and return the HTML for the search results table and pagination controls 3) Lookups We show a hidden DIV (containing some search criteria). The user fills the criteria and an AJAX call returns the data to the DIV. I do see now how we could make other interfaces (like Dan's example) that are less like standard form processing where returning a JS object would be quite handy.
