Les, I understand your frustration with this situation. You can do everything above and beond to show a client how to make the best use of their website (meaning, take the time to touch up every image you put on your site like your a MAXIM editor) but in the end, people don't have the time. I'm surprised you found the time to show them how to do all of this stuff in photshop in the first place. It's one thing to touch up images, it's another to re-size them for the places you need to post them across the internet.
That said, did you provide a photoshop actions template they could use to batch re-size images? "Ctrl Shift 5" re-size all open images and save them to a directory. Might have kept this type of thing from happening, but then again, you still need to upload the images.
