I assume that one be ONE action for the outer SELECT... But that's just
a guess.

DELETE

Would this also apply to sub-selects and other more comlex SQL syntax?

Say:
SELECT aField
FROM (SELECT bField FROM bTable) aTable

Would that be two actions?  Each one allowed to run for the timeout
period, or if the inner select takes too long does it use up all the
time allowed to the outer select?
