OK,

After a few weeks of extended research I am bouncing a line out to see how
others are setting up their ColdFusion in an n-tier architecture. We have
looked at using a reverse proxy to talk to a web layer and also ColdFusion
in Distributed mode in its own tier. Both look attractive with obvious Pros
and Cons.

How are others doing it? what are your experiences? Our cons of CF in
distributed mode are that performance could take a hit when talking to the
web layer, and the fact it seems not many people ever do it this which makes
me wary of even suggesting it. With a reverse proxy the problems could be
we may not be able to get any demographics using out Analytic software as
all requests will appear to come from a single IP/User

Thoughts from people in know, much appreciated.
