I'm forwarding this to cf-talk, where it belongs =) the program creating the images is actually imageCFC... so take that into account when reading the message below. This issue stumped me, so I suggested that he hit up the mailing list for ideas.
---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Developer MediaDoc <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Aug 30, 2007 11:58 AM Subject: Web Service File Permission Issue To: CF-Community <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi All, Have a 'captcha' image creation web service creating a .jpg file, storing it on my domain in a 'services' folder. File is created no problems. When the 'requesting' web site tries to display the file however, I get a standard windows Authentication Required dialog box (username / password) to gain access to my domain. I look in my services / image_store folder and the file my service created has permissions set to the requesting domain (i.e. IUSR_requestor_domain) instead of IUSR_my_services_domain -- which is causing the issue. However in windows, I have set the folder holding all these generated files to apply IUSR_my_services_domain to the folder, subfolder and all files... and yet when a new file is created it NEVER takes those permission settings! Maddening. Im missing something simple I hope!
