words like "me" and "other person" do not really convey anything useful in this case... are "me" and "other person" on the same domain? are you using server, username & password attributes in your cfmail tags? if "me" is on the same domain as configured in the cf admin OR on the correct mail host, while "other person" is not - check mail relay is enabled on corresponding mail server
