Largely compatible does not mean compatible. I had to make a bunch of changes just upgrading from 7 to 8. Are you saying that you can't run classic asp sites on IIS 6/7? CFC's are largely a new language that was totally not available in 4.5 and so are functions. I don't remember when CFSCRIPT was added, but that's pretty much a new language.
