You're not using # signs correctly : <cfset UserCount = Users.Recordcount> <cfset Question = Replace(FAQ.Question, '$$UserCount$$', usercount, "ALL")> # sign should be used only inside <CFOUTPUT tags, rarely inside other CF tags.
