My Company uses paypal - they do regular credit card processing, not just paypal. And using them as a regular merchant gateway isn't subject to the arbitrary holds they seem to place on paypal funds sometimes (ie it's just like using any other merchant gateway).
The implementation is *very* simple and there's sample code available in the developers section of the website.
