To clarify, you can't acccess Excel using the Jet driver, as a datasource.
If you need to read/write/create an excel doc, you still can you'll just
need to use some other tool. Like POI (
http://www.bennadel.com/projects/poi-utility.htm) or any of the third party
tools available.
