No, the J2EE sessions are persisting between server restarts, just like the documentation says. The docs just don't tell how to turn it off. Adobe hints that you can configure the J2EE server to retain session data, which means that you should also be able to configure it NOT to retains sessions, but there's no mention as to where this configuration is or how to change it.
