Not sure what version of Studio you are using but I was having a problem 
with beta 4.5.2 rc1 not being able to browse without saving first. 
HTML's  would but cfm wouldn't. Not sure if your problem is related but 
what fixed it for me is below.

I vaguely recall a discussion about this a while back. I think that the 
different default handling for cfm and html was an intentional decision 
because of the frequency of problems users encountered when using temporary 
files to browse CFM files -- something to do with the need to send the 
original filename to the server rather than an altered one in some 
circumstances.

At any rate, I think you can overide those defaults. That is, you might 
still be able force CFS to feed temporary files to the server if you set 
the External Browser Configuration to browse using temporary files AND 
check the box in Settings/Browse that forces the internal browser to use 
the external browser settings instead of the defaults.
