hey Mark, perhaps it would be best to start with the SAML portion first and get that working, it may be that you don't need Shibboleth in order to get the data you need. This seems a good place to start http://webdevwork.blogspot.com/2008/09/single-sign-on-with-saml-and-coldfusion.html
