yes the additional memory usage is much higher, you are looking at 120mb at least for site/instance, so if you have a lot of small sites and not a lot of memory then the Tomcat version may be better. tomcat also has a lot of other advantages/features if you want to do clustering and such. We are also working on integrating The Tomcat version into WebsitePanel, whioch is get rid of all the manual steps requested, if oyu use WebsitePanel that is :-)
A simple comparison would be. The viviotech version is more like Coldfusion standalone installation The Helicon zoo version is more like the Coldfusion multi-server installation, except you you do not need to manually create each instance.
