Also check the /cfusion/mail directory for 0 byte spool files (or any
malformatted spool file).  If you feed the spooler directory anything 
other
than a perfect spool file and the processor will spike to 100%.  Once 
in a
while, ColdFusion can  spit out one of these 0 byte files.  

If that's the case, delete any 0 byte (or malformatted) spool file and
restart services.

100%CPU usage is a common complaint. I haven't seen any resolution to 
it
though. Try the basics:  lock your variables, look for infinite loops,
odbc driver leak, CF doesn't reallocate memory, bad sql
