I think you missed my point Tom. I am certainly not naive about the "course of the future of MM and CF". It will take whatever course it wants whether we like it or not. We can complain all we want and that may or may not change things. Now I don't want to get into an economic discussion about the decisions Allaire made etc. They did what they did and I'm still a CF developer and I beleive that MM being in the picture can only help things (although there are growing pains involved). Very good point about whistling the MM tune. That's exactly it! We aren't dealing with Allaire anymore even though a bunch of ols Alliare staff are involved. On that note we aren't dealing with MM as it was. We are now dealing with a merged organization and hell ya things are different. This is not a good or a bad thing...it just is. That is were the line must be drawn. Are we going to complain about MM not doing things like Allaire or are we going to try and make the most of it and work with them instead of yelling at them? In my opinion it is useless to complain about things in our lives we can't really control. It is a fact of life that companies and technologies come and go this is something we as developers have to deal with. How do we deal with it? Well we have to keep our skills sharp and learn as much as we can about as many technologies as we can (good or bad). Then if the "unthinkable" happens we are prepared and can continue to provide for our wives/kids/gold fish ;-) It's not like there aren't other more pressing matters in the world to worry about. I'd love to hear some positive posts on this list instead of doom and gloom. Bryan Stevenson VP & Director of E-Commerce Development Electric Edge Systems Group Inc. p. 250.920.8830 e.
