I see some folks downloaded that tag. Sorry to say I realized I've been sitting on an unposted revision for something like a year, which I've just put up at the dev exchg. Nothing critical, but it is a bit nicer and a tad more efficient. See the ''coming in the next revision'' page at the docs site to see what got changed.

So I wrote my own in CF. Currently I use it to check a page for some query output (another poster described an easy way to do this) via a straight http and then an https connection. Then I have it check my smtp connection, followed by a POP3 test and a test of my webmail service. All at 5 minute intervals. The thing is pretty configurable so you can do just about anything you want. Sends an email to my cell upon failure. Keeps a log that saves only X days worth of data, lots of other stuff. Its free and in the dev exchange here: http://makeashorterlink.com/?K4E2513A All you need is a cheapie hosting acct to run it. I used intermedia.net for $30/month until I got DSL at home. Now I run the test for free from my home system (I have an extra cf server license, so I'm still legal ;D). --Matt Robertson-- MSB Designs, Inc. http://mysecretbase.com -----Original Message----- From: Dan Phillips [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, April 05, 2002 8:12 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: Site monitoring Can anyone tell me of a service out there like Netwhistle? I used to use them from time to time to monitor my server at home but it seems they are out of business.
