This sounds like a good plan.

About 90% of threads that appear under other threads don't actually have any
relevance to where it is posted.  Generally its just someone "replying" to
create a new thread of their own chosing by changing the subject.  Of course
this kind of like shooting themselves in the foot, cos if the recipients
email client threads correctly, their message will appear buried under the
thread they used to reply to.

Fields to display for the messages....

Poster's name, yes;
Poster's Email, no; I seem to have come under a barrage of spam in the last
14 days, why give spammers another way to get to us!.
Posting Date, yes;
True Subject, see above...
Other fields....  Can't think of any off the top of my head.
