I am not sure what version you are using, but I have seen this happen on 4.x
servers. In fact, I have a client that this happened on, and he only
averaged 1000-5000 hits a day. What I ended up doing was backing up the
registry entries for all of the CF related items as well as doing a complete
backup of the site (never hurts), then doing a complete un-install of the CF
server. I then removed all traces of CF Server from the web server, and then
removed all registry entries. I then did a fresh install of CF, re-created
the DSN's, and all was well. This server has been up and running for over
two years now with no problems.
I am still not sure why the server was pegging out, but this was the only
way that I could come up with to get this issue resolved. I did first try
doing just a re-install without performing the above steps, but that did not
work.

Subject: Heavy CF Load

I have a customer who is running a site. It is getting a ton of traffic and
CF is constantly pegged at or about 99%. I am looking for some ideas to
suggest to the customer and his developer to improve speeds on the site.
His database is just one table with a lot of information about the people
who signed up First Name, Last Name, State and one more flag in addition to
an identity.

The site is www.PatriotDrive.com

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Neil Heuer
