Yea, at the moment I simply would would stay way from CF 6 if any of your sites heavily uses COM's, especially 3rd party COMs for which you have no idea how they work or are impossible to translate into CF (which would be most COM's). That said, most COM issues are fairly well known and repeatable. You could simply try the website on a dev version of CFMX and get a fairly good idea if it'll work or not.
