I knew of a way on unix, you needed to have root, which I did. This was from
my old IRC warring days with Northstar. Opps I have said way too much LOL.

I think the only way to get an accurate vote (considering it's easy to spoof
IP addresses) is to count one vote for each voter name, not IP. And the only
logical way I see to accomplish that is to have 1 message on the list per
user, voting on a name (similar to the Usenet voting process). Each vote is
harvested by a vote administrator, and within a given timeline, the final
results are released.

Now if someone wants to write a CF program to capture people's MAC address
instead of IP, then I'd say that's a bit more difficult to spoof and would
likely be more accurate... ok, it's late, and that's a bit of overkill :-)
