Chris the idea is to bill them $x a month , regardless of the hours i work, provided the hours worked are within reason. To cover that maintenance component.
So we agree on the amount per month, for what i think will turn out to be about 10 hours a week. I'll be happy with that if the actual hours worked turn out over 6 months to be between 5hrs /week and 15hrs /week. It's a bit like being on a retainer i suppose. I see several dvantages from that kind of relationship - have an ongoing relationwship wtih them regardless of whether there are ongoing jobs to do. (but there are always jobs to do on a web site, so if they dont identify things to do i certainly can).
