I think when comparing rates region to region, one would also have to keep in mind that we have varying tax structures... i think it is best to compare what ones after tax income/rate in relation to the region's standard of living rather than the dollar amount of the charge rate...
Also I reckon Kai is right, it depends on what sort of projects you would tackle, will directly relate to how much you can charge ...
