Hi MArk,
I find SQL easier to read with aliases otherwise the table name just gets repeated over and over again.
It's even worse when you have the key fields repeating the table name like so:
select * from people, jobs
where people.peopleid = jobs.peopleid and people.peopleid = xxxx and jobs.jobid = yyyy
I'd much rather prefer: select * from people, jobs where people.id = jobs.peopleid and people.id = xxxx and jobs.id = yyyy OR select * from people p, jobs j where p.id = j.peopleid and p.id = xxx and j.id = yyy
For a join on a couple of tables it's not so bad but if you doing a join across a dozen or so tables the SQL just gets too verbose.
Possibly it's a personal thing.
