AFAIK, simply invoking or instantiating an instance doesn't cost 
hardly anything - in
fact, it may only create a reference or a pointer - maybe someone else 
could answer
that (i've been studying a little Java, thank you Mr. Helms). I've sat 
and timed it
and it was always 0 ms.

Actually, there is more overhead than just creating a reference (there 
are no pointers in CF or indeed Java). However, it doesn't matter how 
much overhead there is if the performance is acceptable for your 
application.
