Sean,
I will check out the core files and the read me's and the presentation.
Thanks for the help.
Also, general question.... is it ok to have a entity bean have other service
gateways in it? For instance, I might have an Attorney bean... and I want to
get that attorney's publications. Can I have something like
<cfcomponent displayname="Attorney">
....
<cffunction name="GetPublications" returntype="query" hint="Gets attorney's
publications">
<!--- Return publications query via pub's gateway. --->
<cfreturn VARIABLES.PublicationsGateway.GetByAttorneyID(GetID()) />
</cffunction>
....
</cfcomponent>
Is that a good idea? Bad idea?... I kind of don't like storing the
publications in the bean. No need to use lazy loading as mostly likely I
will not have to call this more than once per instantiation.
Thanks!

True, I rolled 8 and 9 in recently.

Since core files (for frameworks) change with each release, you need
to download those separately. The readme file specifies which versions
are needed (in a couple of cases the BER from CVS or SVN is needed -
clearly that will change as new releases are made of the frameworks).
Did you check out the presentation itself? It explains the whole MVC
things as well as the migration from procedural to OO code (albeit at
a high level).
