a fan already!!!
FYI,
we'll be covering generation templates WITHOUT having to learn XML/XSLT (the
public debut of cftemplate . . . drum roll please!), how to think about
generating ALL layers of application from a single metadata repository, and the
practicalities of managing and reusing meta-data across large numbers of
projects. I'll probably have to save details on component based UI generation
for another day. Best part is this is all open source/free idea stuff, so I'm
hoping everyone will be able to sit down and start generating the majority of
their applications once they get their heads around it.
And
later next week I'll finally set up a blog in case anyone outside of the NYC
area wants to play with this stuff . . .

FYI,
this time there will be working code samples (as requested) and the talk will
be simplified to focus on HOW to generate your application so
it'll include new information for the cf.objective()
crowd, and it'll be accessible to people who aren't as familiar
with architecture, design patterns and OOP. I will use OO samples, but the
techniques will be appropriate even for procedural
programming.

Oriented Programming and Application Generators talk from
cf.Objective(). The meeting is Tuesday, March 21st, at 6:30 PM, at the

(Create, Read, Update and Delete). And with Active generators, you can
maintain everything from your DAOs (Data Access Objects) and business logic
to your display layer, making changes in one place in the metabase -- not in
multiple places in the code base. Let Peter Bell teach you more about the
practicalities of writing an active application generator and how Object
Oriented best practices change when 95% of the code becomes just another
artifact. Code examples will be included.

thoughts on cf.Objective(). I don't know if you guys attended; we're very
glad we did.
