`__array_idx` is a CIR detail, so checking it proper in this file requires
divergence. The change in check above was just an effect of the divergence. I
see two options: We either remove the check here entirely or we add the
divergent checks (see 588d2b8c30b02cae2e88ff3fa7328e54f16f6926).
