In addition, a bigger picture (afaik):


A) CalDAV: principals: locations

i) When Chandler Desktop is a CalDAV client of a CalDAV server, an entry in
the location field *may* implicity match a server-defined location (where
locations, users etc. are principals, as shown in the first screen shot
below).

—       Whether Cosmo (Chandler Server) can be similarly configured, I don't 
know.
Some day I may experiment.

ii) On Mac OS X 10.5.6: when Directory Utility is configured for a CalDAV
server offering locations in that way, then iCal may explicitly check a
matching location (see second, third, fourth and fifth screen shots below).

—       Whether a future version of Chandler Desktop will check locations and
resources in a similar way, I don't know. I imagine that it's not a core
priority.


B) Occasional mis-use of location

If ever you find a URL in a location field, try to not follow that habit. 

—       AFAIR in the past at least one software title (not Chandler) led users 
to
enter URLs in that way. Simple misunderstanding.
