No, it's saved when you pick the 'backup' option under the 'Repository' menu

There are two ways to backup your data:
   - use repository backup as outlined earlier
   - export your data (this is done automatically when you quit Chandler,
     normally)

A data export is not a complete repository backup but your personal data is 
preserved.
