(This is a complete tangent from the J, APL, or calendars thread, so I have radically trimmed it and changed the subject line.) I am under the impression that measures of entropy change, slightly, depending on the scale and duration of the measurements. I suspect that this winds up being a perspective on minimal energy curves. Or, put different, that the principles are basically valid, but might need to be stated more precisely when dealing with large scale events.
