Does Docker allow you to run on an M1?

I briefly considered getting a Mac for a change before I bought my Dell
desktop several months ago but decided I didn't want to waste the time
re-learning the many things that would differ on a Mac. I may have
considered it if I could have tested my own software on the M1 and found
that it gave very good performance but I didn't know how to do that.

The Dell has worked out well. I recently completed a series of 300 million
poker game simulations (times 8 because there was a separate set of
simulations for each of 2 to 9 players) in about 45 hours, so that seems
pretty performant.
