I have tested it out, and works for me.. I'd suggest you to use
"Show Rewrite" rather than "Rewrite" for debugging though, in that
way you will see what the final URL is.

If it doesn't work for you it is because a problem in the redir
handler we fixed after 0.4.29 (which is, I suppose, the version you
are running). Anyway, if the problem if due to the bug, it will work
with the last 0.5.0 pre-release for sure:
