Barry,
If I were you I would write a letter to the corporate office. Write a letter a week until you get a response because more than likely they will ignore you. I will definitely look the other way when dealing with auto parts. It always gets me going when the "big" guy tries to push around the "little" guy.
Good luck!

If anybody's thinking about buying new windshield trim, don't buy it from
NPD. I drove down there to pick up the top left piece (100miles each way).
Then I was informed they don't sell just the one piece, but would be happy to
sell me the whole kit for $125.  It's about the only part I had yet to buy to
finish the car, so I said I'd pay it.  (Even though all the pieces were
individually wrapped and taped together, they wouldn't break up the set).
Imagine my surprise when I got the invoice and it said $249.99!!  I had just
looked up the part # in a catalog on their display rack in the showroom, and
now this idiot's telling me the price has doubled since the printing of the
brand new catalog.  I asked to see the manager who just shrugged his
shoulders and basically said tough shit take it or leave it!!  I just about
yanked his ass over the counter and pounded him.  I told this moron I''d
spent almost 3 grand at NPD in the last couple months, and you'd think he'd
gimme a break. Nothing doing.  I told him I'd never spend so much as a dime
in that shithole ever again and I'd pass this info along to the List. The
concept of custosmer service is non-existent with this outfit.  I'm thinking
about taking it to the Attorney General's Consumer Fraud dept. and really
rattling their cage. Oh well, for what it's worth, I'm damn sure not buying
anything from NPD ever again!! There, I feel much better.  Thanks for letting
me vent
