[Chevelle-List] rear end swap

Hi ....I am looking at an add for a re-built 68-72  12 bolt - posi 3.31 rear end that is suppose to be in mint condition......the assembly is drum to drum off a 6cyl wagon and I wanted to know if it could be swapped with my current 67 3.08 10 bolt rear end .   Is the drum to drum measurement the same ? is this a do-able swap or do I need a 66-67 rear end housing?   Mel 67 Malibu SS
