I was so floored by you offering of heads, that I stopped thinking for a second. As much as I would appreciate your heads, I still can not fix the car. I do not have money to replace the camshaft and lifters, not including the oil,filter,gasket etc. Maybe when I get a job, IF SOMEONE OUT THERE WOULD HIRE ME.

I have removed the valve covers. I have found the problem. An exhaust lobe on the camshaft is rounded AAAAAgain. I believe that the guy who milled the studs to installed threaded studs for the rocker arm has F))(*&)()#k up my heads. This is the same lobe that rounded off last time.

Thanks for everyone help. Out of a car. I am still unemployed and can not fix it this time. Just have to push her off to the side. A sad sad day for me.

My 71 Chevelle has started making a popping sound in the header pipes. This happens when I take off quickly. I have a 350 cu.in. motor. The car seems to run ok when you get going and does not have a miss. It idles ok. I check the timing and moved it up and down with no change in this popping. The popping sound get louder with the timing is advance higher. It is just when you take off fast that you hear this popping noise. I am afraid that this is a valve train problem because the car idles ok and runs ok. Any Idea on where to start looking.
