What exactly does the 60 in 235/60R14 stand for?  I might me mistaking on the tires I want.  My understanding is the 235 is diameter inches (23.5 inches) the 60 is mm width on the tread and the R14 is the wheel size.  Is this correct?

Woow you want to go with a 70 series tire for a 17 that is going to be a big tire.  I would suggest a 35 or 40 series myself and I am also curious as to whether a 315/40r17 would fit under a ’69 Chevelle.  I am willing to bet it will with the right offset and backspacing.

What is the largest tire size that will fit under stock wheel wells on a 69 Chevelle?  Right now I am running 235/60r14.  I would like to go to a 17 in wheel since I am planning on putting 3.73 rear end gears.  This will lower my RPM's on the highway by about 600+ RPM's if I can go with 275/70R17 tires.  Is there a website on this (tire sizing, not RPM calculators)?  I know that I am asking a lot of questions tonight.  Just point me in the direction of the nearest website if I ask too many.
