Hey Rock,
Yes, certainly the M10 is rare, however I'm not sure that one
can assume the tranny type (RPO) from the bare console. The previous owner
may or may not have had the original transmission in the vehicle. The rarity
of the *console* was questioned. I guess I would have to ask Dave if he
believes the console was original / unmolested and why he believes the
console to be from a 3-speed car? The only answer I could come up with is
the shift pattern on the bezel. Every unmolested 66/67 auto console I have
seen had the Powerglide bezel or none at all! I wonder if the bezel for the
M10 is different than the aftermarket one sold for the TH350? Anyone have an
M10 3-speed in a 66/67 car on the list?
Note that there was also a small number of M-22's (a dozen or so IIRC)
installed in 66 cars.
