Hi!

It's a (mostly) stock inline 6.  I'm building it myself w/ a kit from 
B&M.  I don't expect that my engine will produce dangerous amounts of 
power - I'm doing this swap to get away from 15 mpg. :-)  It's my 
daily driver, not a race car by any means.

 From talking to local trans shops, opinions seem to vary widely. 
Some say they're rubbish all the time, some say post-86 are better, 
some say any year makes for a good foundation.  Mine's out of a 90 
Caprice with a 5 liter, for what it's worth.  For 'real' power, 
regardless of your definition of that, everyone here recommends a 
700-R4.  I'm not making 'real' power, and I'm not very keen on 
hacking up my floorpan to make a 700-R4 fit, so this was my only 
option for an OD trans.
